Lathrop dismissed from Southeast football team, Stroder leaves basketball team

Scott Lathrop, who was Southeast's starting quarterback as a redshirt freshman in 2012 and shared the starting role with Kyle Snyder last season, has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team policy, according to Southeast sports information director Jeff Honza.

First-year Southeast football coach Tom Matukewicz announced during the spring practice season that Lathrop would not be in the running for the starting quarterback role.

Lathrop was not in uniform for Southeast's spring game on April 26.

Leopold graduate Kyle Stroder has left the Southeast men's basketball program.

Stroder, a guard, joined the Redhawks as a walk-on last season and saw limited action in eight games.

The men's basketball team also will be searching for a couple of assistant coaches to fill the spots of Jessie Evans and Jon Cremins, who are both no longer on the staff.

Cremins accepted an assistant coaching position at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Will Holifield, who was a member of the Redhawks team last season, will remain with the program as a student assistant.
