Southeast Missouri State starting quarterback Daniel Santacaterina has injuries to his foot and shoulder and is not starting today. He is available, but hasn't been able to walk this week. Redshirt junior Joe Pyle is starting. Brings more of a run game to the position than Santacaterina, but less of a passing threat.

Illinois State back-up quarterback Bryce Jefferson (redshirt freshman) also starting for Redbirds. Starting QB Brady Davis suffered a torn ACL Nov. 16. Jack Baltz and Jefferson have led Illinois State to 6 points in last 6 halves of football.

Illinois State run game just pummelling SEMO defense. Redbird QB scores at 14:04 mark 2Q on a 16-yard keeper. Redbirds lead 14-3 and already approaching 200 yards gained on the ground.

SEMO defense forces an Illinois State punt. Takes over offensively at own 20 w/ 9:20 left in 2Q

Illinois State QB throws a prayer while under durress. Completes it for 33-yard score. Redbirds lead 21-3 final minutes of first half. Game has gone perfectly for Illinois State.

SEMO inserts QB Daniel Santacaterina in game mid 3Q. He promptly throws a pick. However, Illinois State can't convert the turnover into points. SEMO takes over at own 20 w/ 2:29 mark 3Q.

SEMO sticking w/ Santacaterina and it is working to start the 4th Q. He has hit WR Kristian Wilkerson for some long gains. Redhawks have ball at Illinois State 19-yard line.

SEMO drive stalls. K Kendrick Tiller boots a 34-yard FG at 14:14 to pull Redhawks w/in 21-6.

Santacaterina just drilled on a sack. No one blocked. Drive stalls. Illinois State takes over w/ 5:40 at midfield.
