SEMO softball's Rachel Anderson named OVC Co-Player of the Week

Freshman Rachel Anderson represented the Southeast Missouri State softball team as the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Anderson hit .750 (6 of 8) in three five-inning victories for the Redhawks during their season debut over the weekend at the Jackson State Tournament in Jackson, Mississippi. Anderson scored six times and had two doubles, two triples and a home run to lead Southeast. She finished the weekend with seven RBIs.
The native of Edwardsville, Illinois, had multiple hits in each of her first three starts, as she homered on her first at-bat of the year.
Austin Peay's Carly Mattson shares the honor with Anderson, while SIU-Edwardsville's Haley Chambers-Book was named OVC Pitcher of the Week.
