Southeast's Jackson selected to CFPA Running Back Award watch list

Southeast Missouri State junior DeMichael Jackson was named to the 2014 College Football Performance Awards Running Back award watch list.
Jackson is one of 38 running backs on the list, which includes three others from the Ohio Valley Conference -- Eastern Illinois' Shepard Little, Eastern Kentucky's JJ Jude and Jacksonville State's DaMarcus James.
Jackson led the Redhawks with 977 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 170 carries last season.
"The goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams," according to a news release from the Southeast athletics department.
Southeast opens its season against Missouri Baptist on August 28 at Houck Stadium.
CFPA winners will be announced on January 14, 2015.
