Track and Field athletes from all over Southeast Missouri weathered the rain to compete in the SEMO Conference championships on Saturday, April 27, at Cape Central High School.

Poplar Bluff’s Darius Graham continues to dominate the competition in the high jump. He won the overall SEMO Conference title in the event and his 2.05-meter mark represents the meet’s only performance that met the MileSplit US First Team standard.

Jackson sophomore Barrett Reagan won two SEMO Conference titles in the 200m and the 400m, where he narrowly beat his younger brother, freshman Blayne Reagan, by .20 seconds. He also finished second in the 100-meter dash behind Cape Central senior Jackson Witvoet.

Jackson senior Bryce Gentry won both the mile and two-mile events against fellow Semoball cross-country finalist Reed Layton of Woodland.

Kelly junior Skyler Still won the SEMO Conference javelin title over his teammate, senior Landon Crisel.

Notre Dame senior Lauren Eftink won the SEMO Conference title in three different events, cementing the future Redhawk as the region’s top distance runner. She recently signed her letter of intent to join her brother, Clayton Eftink, and run track and cross country at Southeast Missouri State.

New Madrid County Central freshman Amya Bills won both the 100m and 200m race, as well as the long jump.

Chaffee freshman Carlyanne Cossou became the first Red Devil to be top 3 overall in two individual events at the SEMO Conference Meet. She won the 100m hurdles and placed third in the 300m hurdles.

Malden’s Angela Dobbins and Poplar Bluff’s Trynitee Watkins tied for the SEMO Conference title in the high jump with a mark of 5-01.00. Another event that resulted in an overall tie is the pole vault, won by both Dexter senior Abbie Lloyd and Saxony Lutheran sophomore Casey Call, setting the mark of 10-00.00.
