Rachel Crader is the editor of semoball.com. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2009 before spending the summer covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.

Injury news on Freese, Maclin

The news is not good on St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese. Freese is finished for the season according to MLB.com's Matthew Leach. (Though plenty of others are reporting the same news.)

Freese was on a rehab assignment with the Cardinals' Double A affiliate in Springfield when he re-injured his right ankle, this time causing tendon damage that will require season-ending surgery.

The Cardinals' infield defense is already one of my least favorite things about the team and now that I'm no longer able to look forward to Freese's return, you can put me in the mildly depressed category. Anyone with me?

There is also some injury news to share about former Mizzou wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. Maclin had to leave his practice with the Philadelphia Eagles today on a cart. Official word for now is that he has a hyperextended left knee.

I'm sure we'll hear more about Maclin's condition in the coming days.

The Cardinals defense is very poor this year, especially in the infield. Second and third base is terrible. We also could use some offense in the infield. Second, short and third MUST be addressed in the offseason!

I have a theory on how that comment may have been posted FarmBoy06. Last night after the comment was posted I started trying to develop theories regarding how and why the comment was posted. I visted the Southeast Missourian website. There was a picture of a dog that was up for adoption to the right of Crader's blog. I'm guessing someone accidentally clicked on Crader's blog instead of the dog and posted the comment.

I think the Cardinals should give Allen Craig a shot at 3rd. I definitely would not put Aaron Miles at 3rd like they did last night he has one of the weaker arms on the team. However, he did do a better job pitching than any other Cardinal pitcher last night haha.
