Rachel Crader is the editor of semoball.com. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2009 before spending the summer covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.

Rachel has covered three Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournaments for the Southeast Missourian and semoball.com, and she'll see you courtside again this year.

Can we please rethink the fan blogs. Again i state, the blogs should be for actual journalists, players, or coaches, while what is being put up right now should be for the forum section.

How about getting a player or two during each season that is going on and have them blog, or even better getting a coach to blog.

Why is their no State rankings for girl's high school softball? High School softball has been around since the late 1970's and deserves just as much respect as any other sport that has its own state ranking.

Second, why doesn't semoball.com or one of the local newspapers conduct their own local rankings, voted on by their sportswriters. These rankings could be done several different ways; one for each class, one that could include large and small schools separately, or even one that would an overall (which would include all schools)?

In addition to rankings, why couldn't semoball.com or the local press publish the local high school teams statistics, in print or on a website. This would give the avid softball fan an opportunity to browse through and see how their favorite team or player is doing? Just something to think about.

I personally like the fan blogs. I don't see any problem with them. True, some people may say some stuff I don't agree with, but I enjoy getting on here and firing back at them :-)

Having players or coaches blog wouldn't be a bad idea but between practice, games, homework and all the other commitments these lovely student-athletes and coaches have might make it next to impossible for them to put something on here about every game or even just one game a week. Just my two cents.....
