Lawless, Bogenpohl share Scott Mississippi Conference POTY honors

The All-Scott Mississippi Conference softball team was recently released, featuring talented players from across the region.

Scott City's MacKenzie Lawless and Oak Ridge's Kinsley Bogenpohl were named co-Players of the Year, while East Prairie's Jade Marcum and Scott City's Morghan Petersen shared the co-Coach of the Year honors.

Oak Ridge softball sophomore Kinsley Bogenpohl has a pitching record of 11-3 on the mound with 141 strikeouts and a 1.91 earned run average. At the plate, Bogenpohl currently has a .596 batting average, 28 hits, one home run, 14 runs batted in, 27 runs scored and eight stolen bases.

Oran had three selections: seniors Molly Spane and Bralynn Morgan, and junior Kendall Burger.

Spane was a strong contributor at the plate and on the mound, leading the team with a .434 batting average, two home runs, and 28 RBIs.

As a pitcher, Spane compiled an 11-4 record over 90.2 innings with a 2.316 ERA and 169 strikeouts.

Morgan also delivered a strong season, finishing with a .407 batting average, the most hits (24), and the most runs scored (30) on the team. Burger rounded things out with a .379 batting average, 22 hits, and 22 runs scored.

East Prairie also had three players honored: junior Chloe Jackson, sophomore Addi Aters, and freshman Harper Marshall.

Jackson led the team with 39 hits, six home runs, and 41 RBIs. She also had a .371 batting average with eight doubles and five triples and scored 30 runs.

Aters was a consistent offensive threat, finishing with a .398 batting average, 39 hits, 27 RBIs, 10 doubles, three triples, and three home runs.

Aters also pitched 69.1 innings, recording a 4.745 ERA with 71 strikeouts.

Marshall led East Prairie with a .438 batting average, adding 35 hits, 11 doubles, four triples, and 25 RBIs. She also scored 28 runs.

Scott County Central's freshman Lainey Glueck also earned all-conference recognition.

As a pitcher, Glueck recorded a 9-9 record over 92 innings with 136 strikeouts. She also contributed offensively with a .304 batting average, 17 hits, 27 runs scored, and 20 RBIs.

Charleston was represented on the All-Conference team by senior Soma Hooper, who finished the season with a remarkable .617 batting average. She tallied 29 hits, including seven doubles and six triples, driving in 30 RBIs and scoring 20 runs. Hooper's offensive prowess accounted for 42 percent of her team's total runs.

Defensively, Hooper also excelled at catcher, throwing out 20 baserunners attempting to steal for a 65 percent success rate.

Other All-Conference selections included Scott City's Alyssa Dirden, Gracie Karrenbrock, and Harley Glueck, and Oak Ridge's Madalyn Schemel and MaKayla Rangel.
