Missourian prep golf roundup, Apr. 17: Jackson edges out Poplar Bluff in JHS Invitational

Jackson varsity placed four golfers inside the top 15 to claim the JHS Invitational, with Poplar Bluff and Ft. Zumwalt South finishing second and third respectively.

Jackson’s Ian Lambert earned individual honors for the Indians at an even 72 strokes, finishing first among all participants. Poplar Bluff’s Caiden Luke placed second for the Mules with a total of 74 strokes, followed by Notre Dame’s Luke Gilmore and Jackson’s Jake Miller in a tie for third with a five-over 77 strokes each.

Jackson’s Bradley Loos finished fifth with 78 strokes, while Marshall Earnhardt finished in 15th with 84 strokes. In addition to the varsity medalists for the varsity Indians, Jackson Red golfer Kael Dameron’s 80 strokes saw him finish in a tie for eighth on Monday.

Poplar Bluff put four golfers in the top 15 as well, with Lawson Barks (80), Corban Thomas (81) and Andrew Miller (82) all putting up solid rounds on Monday.

Despite finishing in sixth as a team, Dexter golfer Ben Christian tied Jackson’s Loos in fifth place at a six-over 78 strokes.
