MISSOURIAN ROUNDUP: Bledsoe's buzzer beater leads Charleston boys basketball to win over Jackson in SEMO Conference Tournament

Samuel Bledsoe drained a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer as the Charleston boys basketball team edged Jackson 62-61 in a SEMO Conference Tournament consolation semifinal on Wednesday at Sikeston Field House.

Bledsoe's buzzer-beater was one of three 3s he made as he finished with nine points. Demarcus Sharp led the second-seeded Blue Jays (3-3) with 23 points and 11 rebounds plus three steals. Jeremy Tucker added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Pete Lake scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds for Jackson (1-2), which was eliminated from the tournament. Cameron Hester had a double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds plus two blocks. Desmond Morris chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds and two steals.

Jackson led 62-60 before Bledsoe hit that 3-pointer on the final possession. Charleston will face Poplar Bluff in the consolation championship at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Leah Cauble poured in 40 points as the top-seeded Eagles cruised to an convincing victory over the No. 4 Cardinals in a semifinal of the Lady Red Devils Invitational Tournament at Chaffee High School.

Oran (4-0) will face the winner of tonight's semifinal between Chaffee and Puxico in the championship on Saturday.

Kaylee Payne added 16 points for the Eagles, and Claire Ramsey chipped in with 11.

Krista Rhodes paced Woodland (1-1) with 14 points.
