Eagle Ridge Track and Field State Champions

The 2010 Eagle Ridge Christian School (ERCS) Track & Field team competed in Joplin, MO on May 1, 2010, for the Missouri Christian School Athletic Association (MCSAA) state competition.

With only two high school boys, two high school girls and two junior high girls, the team set three new state records and brought home 17 top-eight place finishes including five first places.

Bill Shell (12) set the 400-meter dash record and his twin sister Emma (12) set two records, the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Along with there records, Bill placed first in the 200-meter sash, second in the 100-meter dash and third in the long jump.

Emma placed first in the long jump and second in the triple jump.

Aaron Margrabe (9) placed second in the discus, fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and eighth in the shot put.

Megan Woodall (10) placed fourth in the 800 and 1600-meter runs and eighth in the discus.

Susanna Cohen (8) placed second in the 100-meter hurdles and seventh in the 100-meter dash and the shot put.

Sammy Gray (7) set a new personal record in the discus.

The two ERCS boys scored 48 points to place them fifth out of nine teams. The four ERCS girls scored 61 points to place seventh out of 10 teams.

The ERCS track and field coach, Jamie Crowell, is extremely proud of the 2010 season and the superior performances during the MCSAA state track and field meet.

The ERCS track team will be losing two seniors, Bill and Emma Shell, to Southwest Baptist College in Bollivar, MO where they earned a track scholarship.
