DONIPHAN — It’s said that defense travels. Neelyville’s certainly did against Doniphan on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers forced three turnovers within the first two minutes against the Donettes, suffocating them and getting in passing lanes on nearly every possession. Late in the first quarter, Neelyville forced Doniphan to turn the ball over on three straight possessions.

The Lady Tigers didn’t allow a basket until 2:06 remained in the opening quarter and led 23-2 after the first. That hot start propelled them to a 64-39 win over the Donettes.
