Rachel Crader is the editor of semoball.com. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2009 before spending the summer covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.

(Bad) Video of $1000 Lids winner

Lance Seiler won a $1000 gift certificate from Lids at the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament Thursday night.

Seiler, who played in the tournament for Leopold last season, made a layup, free throw, 3-pointer and half-court shot to win the prize. He swished the final three shots.

I hurriedly got my phone out and started shooting video just before he took the half-court shot. Like a true n00b, I held my phone vertically so the video doesn't fill the screen, but here is what I got.

I didn't see it, but word is that Seiler starting celebrating before the half-court shot went through the hoop.

It was tuesday nignt during the Scott Central vs. Leopold game. I was there and saw it.

Thank you; Eric. The story says Thursday; only one person attempted the half court shot Thursday. He came close and hit the rim.

That was awesome when he did that. I'm not saying I wouldn't take a $1000 gift card to Lids, but I would much rather have a $1000. Didn't the prize used to be a $1000?

That is what I thought immediatly. Everyone went crazy in there except me. What is a guy gonna do with a thousand dollars worth of hats? Don't get me wrong, its awesome that he made it, but a more useable prize (such as cash money) would be better in my opinion.
