Rachel Crader is the editor of semoball.com. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2009 before spending the summer covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.

Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament Bracket Contest!

You can make your first round picks now and choose who you think will be the tournament champion. Get it right and you'll get 10 bonus points.

The grand prize is once again a $300 gift certificate from Auto Tire & Parts, who we thank for making the contest possible. Of course, there are plenty of bragging rights on the line as well.

Tournament Information

Here are the seeds for the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament, as announced yesterday:

3. Scott County Central

4. Cape Central

5. Jackson

6. Leopold

7. Advance

8. Scott City

9. Chaffee

10. Delta

11. Oak Ridge

12. Oran

13. Bell City

14. Woodland

15. Kelly

16. Meadow Heights

The tournament will start on Monday, Dec. 26, and be played Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The Southeast men's basketball team has a game at the Show Me Center on the middle Wednesday night.

I really believe Scott city got disrespected as an 8 seed. They are every bit as good as Advance.Though they are young they shoot extremely well and are very scrapy.

The seating was complete before Scott City and Advance played. Do not think it would make much difference between a 7 and 8 seat. You either lose in the second round to Cahrleston or Notre Dame.

I'm betting on an ND-Charleston final. Don't see SCC having enough to make it based on some of their scores this year. They may even get tested by their quarterfinal game.

I agree. Scott City should have been seeded higher. Scott County Central should have been seeded lower.

I'm glad there is a day off also. I can attend the championship at Cape Girardeau if I don't go to the championship at Dyersburg or Poplar Bluff Friday.

I would not sleep on some of these teams in the 3 thru 8 seeds have potiental to pull an upset on any given night and lay an egg the next night such is what you have some teams still gaining valuable varsity experience. Problem with thinking of ND being in the final they are bad shootig night or a tightly called game from being in trouble.
