Rachel Crader is the editor of semoball.com. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2009 before spending the summer covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.

I still say that Dexter is above Cape but that the poll is right other than that. I'm wondering which voter is holding on to hope that Cape is the #1 team in the area after that performance against Jackson.

the poll looks pretty good for this point in the season. i think cape is a bit overrated but we'll see in the coming weeks. really can't argue them being ahead of dexter since they're undefeated. however, dexter's lone loss was to sikeston and they beat a pretty good ste. gen. team.

I think you can argue Cape being ahead of dexter. Just bc they are undefeated. I think dexter gets the 3 spot. To say you cant really argue is like saying cape should get the 1 spot over sikeston bc they are undefeated and sikeston isnt. I do agree with you about cape being overrated. Does anyone think Hayti or Malden should be ranked above cape?

No offense to Jackson but I think Sikeston wins with ease so long as they don't treat them lightly which they shouldn't.

But the question is if you put Cape in your rankings Dustin since you said Jackson should be ranked if Cape is considering Jackson didn't receive a single vote. What was your top five for this week?

I think you are right. But we may learn a great deal about Sikeston this week.

Dexter and Caruthersville are clear favorites to win their respective district.

One has to wonder what will happen in the district featuring Hayti and Thayer.

We won't learn anything about Sikeston til they meet Farmington. Sikeston should win out the rest of their schedule up until the Farmington game! Could be game of the year in SEMO

Isn't that contradicting of your earlier comment then? And to be honest, I think Jackson played up against Cape, that Cape took them lightly, and that Cape is just not quite on the same level as a Sikeston, Caruthersville, or Dexter.

That last comment is meant towards Dustin. I agree with you Cheese that Sikeston has a relatively painfree schedule till Farmington though they won't take the teams in between lightly.

Dustin, I have not gotten to see them in person. I've seen some clips of film and have gotten information about them from my sources up there. They are in a similar situation as Cape was last year of being a senior heavy team that have their one big shot this year. I wouldn't be shocked if they made it to the Dome. They are that strong. However, I'm not going to count out Sikeston against them. It all just depends how each team continues to develop. That's why I think the Knights matchup with McNorth tonight will be a very good measuring stick to show just how good they are to the rest of the Class 4 schools in the area.

Dustin, I think the Kennett/Pville game will be a high scoring game! It's a toss up to me though. Pville playing better than they were, Kennett also improving, exciting game. Where will this game be played at?
