Rachel Crader is the editor of semoball.com. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2009 before spending the summer covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.

This isn't as much fun now that the Mets have gone ahead 2-1 in the 20th, but it's never a bad time to remember the 2006 National League Championship Series.

If you're somehow not watching the Cards' game, move along. There's nothing to see here.

drawmules, he's the best defensive catcher in the game. And he can hit a little at least ;) I would certainly put him in my line up everyday..

Crader my favorite catcher is Joe Mauer. I like his stats. In my fantasy baseball league there are ten teams in each league. Nobody drafted Molina as their catcher.

I hate to jump off topic and I know it's early but Jaime Garcia might put together the best rookie season for a starting pitcher in St. Louis since Rick Ankiel.

Cardinals fans if you really do like Molina it's ok. I know I am in the minority on this. Don't hold it against me.

I have heard plenty about not being able to hit with Molina. There are a few stats to look at. I don't know the numbers, but I know over the last few years only Pujols has better numbers. That stat is RISP with 2 outs. Cardinals team only I don't know how the whole league rates. Molina is clutch.

And the unforseen stat is how many runs does he save while on defense. Something like 34 pickoff's since he has been in the league. The next closest guy is one of his brother's with 16. For you offensive minded people, ESPN the Magizine had a great article on Molina that is well worth the read. One of the lines is from Loshe. " I shook off Molina 4 times last year, 3 of those turned into basehits". Another quote from that article from Joe Maurer, he was asked who is the best catcher in the league? His answer "Yadi"

Fantasy Leagues are great. I love them and enjoy playing in them. But they are all offensive minded. If they would deduct points for errors, teams lossing and bases stole against for catchers. Molina with just his defensive numbers would be one of the top 4 or 5. If it was solely based on defense he would be the best catcher in the Fantasy League.

I believe Molina is also one of the best in NOT striking out. They mentioned it the other night I think and I've herad it before--Yadier Molina is one of the hardest batters to strike out. Part of that could have to do with him knowing the strike zone so well and getting borderline pitches called balls.

I'm just excited people are finally interested in the Cardinals. Now if Cardinals fans would just joiin me on the forums during games. If we could get 100 Cardinals fans on the forums during a game I might stop giving Crader a hard time about Molina.
