SEMO WBB drop road game at E'ville
Southeast Missouri State women's basketball dropped a road game at Missouri Valley Conference foe Evansville 64-53 on Sunday.
The Redhawks (4-6) got 12 points from Rahmena Henderson and 10 points from Kennedi Watkins.
SEMO trailed 13-11 after the first quarter before the Purple Aces tore off on a 22-9 run in the second quarter.
The Redhawks battled back to trim their deficit to 59-53 with 1:32 remaining in the game, as redshirt junior guard Sophie Bussard buried a 3-pointer, but the hosts sealed the game from there.
Henderson and Watkins each shot 5-of-7 from the field. Bussard added six points and six rebounds for SEMO which shot 35.5 percent.
SEMO hosts Illinois-Chicago in its final non-conference game on Tuesday at the Show Me Center at 11 a.m.
