Jackson pair named SEMOTCCCA Week 7 Runners of the Week

Jackson senior Cole Puls and freshman Anika Stephens were named the Southeast Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Runners of the Week for week seven of the cross country season.

Puls has been recovering from a broken foot and pneumonia this season, but has still managed to put on strong performances on the course. Puls made his debut at the Gans Creek Classic on Sept. 24, running a 17:05 to finish 74th. He took eighth place in the Notre Dame Invitational (17:15) and third in the SEMO Conference meet (16:53.90).

Stephens began the season on the junior varsity team, but was moved up to varsity ahead of the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin, Missouri. She has since finished 10th in the Notre Dame Invitational (21:06) and took eigth place in the SEMO Conference meet (21:45.60).
