Five high school athletes from Cape Central, Jackson and Notre Dame signed national letters of intent on Wednesday to play their respective sports at the next level.

Notre Dame's Lexi Rubel — who averaged 16.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last season — made her commitment to Tennessee Martin official, signing her letter of intent to play basketball for the Skyhawks.

Rubel is a member of Notre Dame's 1,000 point club, earned all-conference, all-district and all-state honors and was named the 2021 Southeast Missourian Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

Cape Central and Jackson had two athletes apiece sign NLIs on Wednesday.

Tigers volleyball player Ella Vogel signed her NLI to continue her career at Murray State next season, and Abigail Simon signed with McKendree to continue her soccer career.

Jackson's Kaydi Rhodes — who finished fifth at this year's MSHSAA Golf State Championships — signed with Tennessee Tech and Abbey Klund will officially continue her soccer career after signing with Southwest Baptist.
