Volleyball Roundup, Oct. 8: Meadow Heights upends Oran to earn 16th victory
Meadow Heights swept Oran 25-8, 25-8, 25-3 on the road Friday night, winning its 16th game of the season.
Ashley Allen led the Panthers (16-7) with 21 assists, two kills and two aces.
Halli Bollinger-Yount (seven kills, ace serve), Molly Conrad (five kills, two blocks, seven digs), Kambri Erzfeld (three kills, six digs), Miranda Green (three kills, 2 blocks) and Ashley Gruenke (10 digs, five aces) also contributed in a winning effort.
Meadow Heights will play at 6:15 p.m. Monday against Bismarck at home.
Oran (1-16-1) will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday on the road against Charleston.
Lesterville 3, Clearwater 0
Class 1 state-ranked Lesterville defeated Clearwater on the road in straight sets, 25-14, 25-17, 25-18, Thursday night.
The Bearcats picked up their 17th win of the season while Clearwater falls to 6-19-3.
Lesterville will take part in the Jackson Tournament today, facing Farmington at 9:45 a.m.
Clearwater plays next at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at home against Twin Rivers.
Clarkton 3, Bloomfield 1
The Clarkton Reindeer held their pink out game at home on Friday and won in four sets over Bloomfield, 25-23, 16-25, 25-19, 27-25.
Junior hitter Montana Pearson led Clarkton offensively with 19 kills and freshman Angel Johnson contributed with 11 kills and two blocks.
Clarkton (20-7) are rolling right along, winners of 10-straight games and will play next in the Tri-County Conference Tournament held in their home gym starting Monday.
Bloomfield (8-12) will take part in the SCAA Conference Tournament and will play Dexter on Tuesday.
