Golden State Warriors forward Otto Porter Jr. scored 19 points in his preseason debut with the team on Tuesday in a 121-107 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Otto Porter Jr. scored 19 points in his preseason debut with the Golden State Warriors.

The former Scott County Central star went 5 for 9 from the field including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc in the Warriors 121-107 road win against the Portland Trail Blazers.

“I’ve still got some kinks, still getting my legs back up under me,” Porter told reporters in the post-game press conference. “Today was only the first game so you can only continue to get better from there, This is just a starting point, and every day I plan to continue to learn, continue to get better playing with these guys and continue to figure things out.”

Porter was solid at the free-throw line, making five of his six attempts. He also pulled down four rebounds, recorded two steals and dished an assist.

“I haven’t felt this great in a long time,” Porter said. “Actually, I felt really good. I’m continuing to do what I need to do to continue feeling this way. I make sure I get my work in with my trainers, my strength staff with Golden State and just continue to stay on top everything.”

Jordan Poole scored 30 points for the Warriors and Golden State hoisted 69 3-pointers in the win.

Poole finished 7 for 13 from deep, and Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins each scored 13.

Damien Lillard buried five 3s in the first half to lead Portland with 19 points. Jusuf Nurkic scored 15 and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Houston Rockets hold the NBA regular-season record for single game 3s taken with 70 in 2019.
