Former SCC star Otto Porter Jr. inks with Golden State Warriors
Former Scott County Central basketball player Otto Porter Jr. has signed a veteran minimum contract with the Golden State Warriors, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports first reported.
Details of Porter’s contract weren’t immediately available, but the minimum salary for a player with eight years of experience in the NBA is $2.39 million, according to Sportrac.
According to Haynes, Porter turned down a mid-level deal with another team to sign with the Warriors.
Porter — who has averaged 10.9 points, five rebounds and a steal per game in his eight-year career — is headed to his fourth team. He was traded from the Chicago Bulls to the Orlando Magic last season in a deal that sent him, Wendell Carter Jr. and two first-round draft picks to Orlando in exchange for Nikola Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu.
The former Brave has only appeared in 57 total games the last three years due to various injuries and hasn’t played in more than 56 games in a single year since the 2017-18 season.
