Boys Tennis Roundup, April 10: Dexter brothers win doubles championship at PB Invitational

The Boles brothers lived up to their billing.

Ryder and Peyton received the top seed and won the double championship Saturday at the Poplar Bluff Invitational boys tennis tournament.

The Dexter teammates defeated Colton Woody and Maddox Waller-Brenneke, of Farmington, 8-1 in the championship match after recording an 8-5 win over Henry Robison and Gary McClain, of Sikeston, in the quarterfinals and a 9-7 victory over Gavin Harden and Charles West, of Notre Dame, in the semifinals.

Ryder and Peyton received a first-round bye.

Dexter’s other doubles team, Jackson Allen and Drew Chamberlain, lost 8-2 to second-seeded Gavin Vaughn and Aden Bedell, of Poplar Bluff, in the first round.

Top-seeded Parker Nagy, of Poplar Bluff, won the singles bracket.

Dexter’s Drake Channell advanced to the quarterfinals with an 8-2 win over Haydin Eckhoff, of Potosi, in the first round. Wyatt Bach, of Farmington, beat Channell 8-3 in the quarterfinals.

Dexter’s Nate Mangum, who received the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye, lost 8-5 to Potosi’s Brenden Brown in the quarterfinals.
