Boy Soccer Roundup, Sept. 8: Jackson boys finishes strong, goes 2-1 over weekend at Notre Dame soccerfest

The Jackson boys soccer team would have an uphill battle to start the Notre Dame soccerfest. They would take on the host Bulldogs on thursday and fall to them 5-1.

Tied at zero at halftime, the Indians just could not muster much of an offensive threat, only netting the one goal. The goal was scored by Chalon Domian with the assist coming from Wil Essner.

Game two on friday would feature Jackson taking on Cape Central.

The Indians would score early and often, getting eight kicks by Tiger goalies.

They would win by a score of 8-2.

Wil Essner would lead Jackson in scoring with three goals.

Jake Sauerbrunn would score two goals with Tyson White, Braden Stowe, and Mason Grindstaff each chipping in one goal apiece.

The Indians would finish the soccerfest playing an upstart Fredericktown team but would come away with a 6-0 victory.

Jackson would have six different players score, as Preston Lafave, Sauerbrunn, Deonta Blair, Noah Sparks, Stowe, and Sam Nispel would all score one goal each.

Goalies Luke Mirly and Nolan Dry would keep the Blackcats from scoring throughout the contest.

Jackson will take its 4-1 record and head to Northwest High School in Cedar Hill for a match at 6:30 p.m. today.
