HEAD TO HEAD STREAK: Kennett is 3-3 against Ste. Genevieve since 2010.

WEEK 3 MEETING: Kennett enjoyed a 26-0 lead by halftime in the first meeting against Ste. Genevieve in Week 3. Kennett running back Marsayv’aun Harrell had 11 carries for 130 yards against Ste. Genevieve in Week 3. Harrell ran for a touchdown and caught two more touchdown passes from Bodey Ellis. Jordan Jarrett, who had five carries for 104 yards, also had a 69-yard touchdown run against Ste. Genevieve. Ellis completed 6 of 9 passes for 98 yards. Ste. Genevieve quarterback Logan Gegg completed 11 of 24 passes for 109 yards against Kennett. Gegg’s favorite target was Payton Matthews who caught six passes for 69 yards. Ste. Genevieve rushed the ball 18 times for 32 yards against the Kennett defense in Week 3.

ABOUT KENNETT: Defending district champion Kennett (11-0), which is ranked No. 5 in the latest Class 3 state poll, beat Fredericktown 49-0 in Week 1, beat Gosnell (Ark.) 44-8 in Week 2, beat Ste. Genevieve 33-0 in Week 3, beat Caruthersville 41-22 in Week 4, beat North County 45-6 in Week 5, beat New Madrid County Central 50-6 in Week 6, beat Dexter 56-6 in Week 7, beat Malden 51-0 in Week 8, beat Sikeston 36-0 in Week 9, beat Doniphan 56-0 in Week 10, and beat Potosi 30-12 in Week 11. All four of Kennett’s touchdowns were rushing touchdowns last week. Kennett is a run-first squad that has rushed the ball 385 times for 3,494 yards and passed the ball for 742 yards this season. Harrell, who had three rushing touchdowns last week, has a team-high 145 carries for 1,613 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns this season. Jarrett has also been a threat on the ground with 51 carries for 649 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. Ellis has 58 carries for 426 yards. Ellis has completed 38 of 72 passes for 630 yards. He has thrown two interceptions, 11 touchdown passes, and rushed for seven touchdowns. Maddox has a team-high 13 receptions for 155 yards. Joquan Williams, who has seven catches for 174 yards, is a threat to catch a deep pass. Harrell has five catches for 124 yards and a team-high four touchdown receptions. Tanner Duncan has seven catches for 102 yards and Jake Stewart has six catches for 53 yards. The Kennett defense, which allows six points per game, has forced 32 turnovers this season.

ABOUT STE. GENEVIEVE: Ste. Genevieve beat Dexter 49-7 in Week 1, Valle Catholic beat Ste. Genevieve 41-6 in Week 2, Kennett beat Ste. Genevieve 33-0 in Week 3, Ste. Genevieve beat Potosi 20-14 in Week 4, Park Hills Central beat Ste. Genevieve 31-14 in Week 5, Ste. Genevieve beat Perryville 42-27 in Week 6, Ste. Genevieve beat Fredericktown 36-28 in Week 7, Ste. Genevieve beat DeSoto 42-7 in Week 8, Ste. Genevieve beat Brentwood 55-14 in Week 9, Ste. Genevieve beat Fredericktown 31-7 in Week 10, and Ste. Genevieve won at Park Hills Central 24-22 in Week 11. Park Hills Central had won the previous seven meetings against Ste. Genevieve until Mateus Lacerda, a foreign exchange student from Brazil, hit the game-winning field goal with 12.5 seconds left last week. Senior quarterback Logan Gegg is 129 for 212 passing for 1,718 yards this season. He has thrown 19 touchdown passes and seven interceptions this season. He also has 126 rushes for 419 yards and eight touchdowns. Austin Bullock has also helped with the running game with 115 touches for 578 yards and five scores. Sophomore Zach Boyer has been a consistent target for Gegg as he caught 34 passes for 661 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively Koby Hatfield has led the charge with 77 tackles (54 solo, 23 assists) and two sacks, including a sack on the final play in Week 11 to seal the win against Park Hills Central. Evan Walker, a two-way player and a two-time state track qualifier in hurdles, has 47 total tackles (31 solo, 16 assists) and six sacks to go with 15 tackles for a loss. Bryce Trollinger has also contributed on the defensive side with 47 stops (38 solo, nine assists), and Clayton Kreitler has also been disruptive on the defensive side with 46 total tackles (34 solo, 12 assists). In addition to his stops Kreitler blocked a punt and returned it for a defensive score earlier in the year.
