STEELE, Mo. - The Campbell Camels and Malden Green Wave are set to collide in the championship of the Bootheel Conference varsity volleyball tournament for a third straight season after both squads collected semifinal wins Wednesday night.

No. 1 seeded Campbell beat No. 4 seeded Caruthersville 25-8, 25-12 in the first varsity semifinal Wednesday night at South Pemiscot High School.

No. 2 seeded Malden followed by beating No. 3 seeded Senath-Hornersville 25-11, 25-20 in the nightcap semifinal.

Malden (11-9-3) plays Campbell (22-3-2) in the championship Thursday at 7 p.m. at South Pemiscot High School. Campbell has won both head-to-head meetings with Malden in three sets this season.

Malden beat Campbell in conference tournament title game in 2017 before Campbell won the 2018 conference tournament championship against Malden.

Notes: No. 4 seeded Portageville will take on No. 2 seeded Malden in the junior varsity championship Thursday at 6 p.m. Portageville upset No. 1 seeded Campbell in a junior varsity semifinal Wednesday. No. 2 seeded Malden won its junior varsity semifinal against No. 3 seeded Senath-Hornersville 18-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Tri-County Conference Volleyball Tournament

GIDEON, Mo. - The semifinals are set at the Tri-County Conference varsity volleyball tournament following semifinal action Tuesday.

No. 1 seeded Gideon will take on No. 5 seeded Risco in the first varsity semifinal Thursday at 6 p.m. at Gideon High School. The second semifinal between No. 2 seeded Clarkton and No. 3 seeded Holcomb follows at about 7 p.m. Thursday. Winners square off in the varsity championship Friday at 6 p.m. at Gideon High School.

Notes: Holcomb beat No. 6 seeded Southland 25-8, 25-7 in its varsity quarterfinal Tuesday.

Gideon beat No. 8 seeded Cooter 2-0, Risco upset No. 4 seeded North Pemiscot 2-0, and Clarkton beat No. 7 seeded Delta C-7 2-0 in the other varsity quarterfinals Tuesday. The scores of the other varsity quarterfinals were not available.
