DAR ROUNDUP: Ellington wins Big Spring Conference Tournament
Ellington claimed the Big Spring Conference Tournament title with a 4-3 win over Van Buren in the final Thursday.
The Whippets finished the fall 14-9 while Van Buren fell to 12-8.
Clearwater 15, Bismarck 0
Austin Grimes drove in four runs, Gage Keller was 4 for 4 with a pair of RBIs and Joey Holmes scored three times as the Tigers took advantage of 10 walks.
East Carter 18, Saxony 0
East Carterís Makenna Moore threw a four-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk allowed.
Moore had a triple, two RBIs and scored three times.
For the season, Moore has two no-hitters and a perfect game.
Elizabeth Crowley was 3 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs for the Redbirds (18-6) and Audrey Carter was 2 for 3 with three runs. PJ Gholson had three RBIs.
Mackenzie Robinson drew a walk for Saxony Lutheran (0-16).
Naylor 6, Twin Rivers 4
Kaylynn Johnson hit an RBI double, Whitney Mitchell squeezed in a run and Danielle Shepard hit a two-run sacrifice fly as Naylor (9-7) scored four runs in the fifth to rally past Twin Rivers (15-6).
Hannah Eddy hit a two-run triple and drove in another run with a 3 for 4 performance for the Royals. Raci Rose also drove in a run as Twin Rivers led 4-2 after four innings. Whitney Williams struck out six over four innings and allowed two earned runs.
Makenzie Crofford, Mitchell and Aribi Pruett each had two hits for Naylor.
Neelyville 15, Couch 0
Bailey McGruder drove in four runs, reaching base four times with two hits and two of 15 walks for Neelyville (10-12) in a three-inning win. Natalie Akers drove in two runs and Payton Reinbott had a double while allowing a hit and striking out four over two innings in the circle. McGruder struck out the side in the third.
