Southeast Missouri State freshman Kaziska ties for ninth in floor at NCAA Regional

Southeast Missouri State gymnastics freshman gymnast Anna Kaziska earned a 9.825 score in the floor exercise Friday in the NCAA Baton Rouge (Louisiana) Regional, tied for the ninth-best score.

Kaziska earned a score of 9.8s from two judges, a 9.85 and a 9.9.

It was the 10th time this season Kaziska has scored a 9.8 or higher in the floor and her 27th score of 9.7 or higher.

Utah's MyKayla Skinner, an alternate for the 2016 U.S. Olympics team who performed right before Kaziska, won the floor title with a 9.925 score. The top scorer in the event who isn't on one of the two teams that advance to the NCAA National Championships goes to nationals as an event specalist.

Kaziska's season isn't finished. She will compete in the all-around at the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships on April 12-14 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She will be joined by her teammates Mackenzie Slee, Gabrielle Adams and Alana Fischer.
