Saxony Lutheran boys soccer falls to Principia in Class 1 quarterfinal
A repeat final four trip proved just out of the reach of the Saxony Lutheran boys soccer team.
The Crusaders dropped a home Class 1 quarterfinal against Principia 1-0 at Shawnee Park on Saturday evening.
With the win, Principia (9-7) advances to the state semifinals and will play Fair Grove at 4 p.m. Friday in Fenton, Missouri.
Saxony finishes the season with a 7-9-1 record having won a fifth consecutive Class 1 District 1 championship. Last year, Saxony finished fourth in its first-ever state trip.
The Crusaders will lose six seniors to graduation.
