The rosters for the Bootheel Alumni Classic were just released. This is a tournament that consists of Bootheel teams made up of some of the areas best players throughout the years battling rival bootheel towns. The tournament will take place at the Hayti high school gym Sat. July 6th. I believe the doors will open at 4:30 pm. If you have never been to an event such as this, they are a blast. They feature teams made up of players you always wanted to see, and they go at each other much harder than high school ball. So here are the games and rosters:

Malden:-------------------------------------
Quentin Gorden
Quentin Franks
Robbie Ison
Nick Perkins
Eljuan Perkins
Kaluem Reid

Fred Garmon
Randrick Caruthers

Fred Treadwell
Tevein Walker
Isaac Ray
NMCC:---------------------------

I think they are really sticking to the bootheel thing. Whereas Sikeston and Charleston are not technically in the bootheel. But boy would that be fun! But this will be some exciting games as well in my opinion!

No way that Hayti team beats that Cville team. Last year they played, Hayti having the same team as this year, won by last second 3 point shot at the buzzer. That was Cville not having Norman Prather or Eric Hubbard. IF them two play this year, Cville by double digits.

That game was really more of a guess for me, I'm not very familar with some of cvilles players.

I'd really like to see William Durden, Josh Minner, and Derick Tipler play again.

Me and another individual worked putting the event together. The reason Sikeston and Charleston wasn't added was simply the commute. It has primarily the schools in New Madrid, Dunklin, and Pemiscot county which we really classify as the Bootheel. No doubt adding Charleston vs. Sikeston was strongly considered, if we could get the good folks at NMCC to donate their filed house next year for a more centrally geographical location they will be added.
If anyone needs tickets they can call me.

Great event this weekend Coach Porter, it was a lot of fun! Well done, and a great basketball atmosphere. If you do get my favorite gym, NMCC, next year and add Sikeston and Charleston that place would fill up and be rockin! I also liked your dancing skills haha. You were a foul magnet in your game lol, living at the free throw line haha.

I know that Portageville defeated NMCC and Caruthersville beat Hayti, but I don't recall the scores.
