  • If PB has a it's players it won't be much of a game.

-- Posted by BIGELW on Wed, Jan 11, 2017, at 9:07 AM
  • I agree with BIGELW. We shall see, I hear everyone is healthy.

-- Posted by PBMuleFan on Wed, Jan 11, 2017, at 3:54 PM
  • I haven't seen Caruthersville play this year. Could someone who has seen them give a little run down?

    -- Posted by semo501 on Wed, Jan 11, 2017, at 10:37 PM
  • It will be a game they match up well

-- Posted by unfinishbusiness on Fri, Jan 13, 2017, at 11:31 PM
  • Heard Leech returned tonight

-- Posted by LeBum on Fri, Jan 13, 2017, at 11:54 PM
  • Leech, Hardimon, Lucas all played together for 2nd time this season. First game of year defeated Jennings by 22 and tonight beat Twin Rivers by 28.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 12:11 AM
  • Quite an accomplishment for a class 5 team. Beating a team that finished on the consolation side of the BCT by 28. Chaminade is probably a bit concerned.

-- Posted by Popcorn Genius on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 12:42 AM
  • Yeah Popcorn, because Poplar Bluff is supposed to scare Chaminade. Makes total sense. Ignorant.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 12:44 PM
  • I am more interested in Poplar Bluff vs Jackson on Tuesday I have never seen this Leech kid play looking forward to it. Should be a good game.

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 4:00 PM
  • Caruthersville will give Bluff all they want but if Bluff is healthy I think they win.

-- Posted by Kennett fan on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 4:06 PM
  • I expect a much better game between Jackson and Bluff than the first time. Should be a real good game.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 4:32 PM
  • Ignorant?? Take it easy, All day. I just assumed with one of the top players in the nation healthy along with a nice transfer on the roster that PB had aspirations of making some noise in the state playoffs. No harm intended.

-- Posted by Popcorn Genius on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 8:20 PM
  • I heard P.B. won at West Plains 80-40 tonight, does that make you feel any better?

    -- Posted by 3Rfan on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 9:45 PM
  • Nice win. I like to see all SEMO teams do well.....Especially late in the year.

-- Posted by Popcorn Genius on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 9:57 PM
  • Obviously Poplar Bluff is a totally different team with Leech. I think they are the second best team in Semo when healthy. I do think they could play with Sikeston but not sure they could beat them.

-- Posted by LeBum on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 10:30 PM
  • Just would like to clear up, I was not intending that to mean you were ignorant Popcorn. I mean the comment was ignorant in the fact I'm sure we can agree Chaminade is not scared of anyone.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 14, 2017, at 11:50 PM
  • P.B. has Leech AND Hardimon back, it does make difference. They hadn't all played together since early December. Probably gave some valuable experience to some other players that will make them a better team down the stretch.

    -- Posted by 3Rfan on Sun, Jan 15, 2017, at 9:24 PM
  • I agree 3Rfan. With those 2 back and if they'll step up on the defensive side of the ball they pretty salty.

  • Where will this game be played and at what time?

  • Bluff vs Jackson tonight. Who you guys got?

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 5:58 AM
  • Bluff by 10-15

-- Posted by BIGELW on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 11:01 AM
  • Bluff vs C'Ville on Saturday 1/21 at 12:00 at Poplar Bluff. Should be a good one.

-- Posted by semo ref on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 11:52 AM
  • Jackson!!

-- Posted by IndianPride on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 12:03 PM
  • I believe C'ville will give PB a good game. C'ville is athletic and has some size. They match up with PB fairly well. I think PB will win the game, but I think it will be single digits.....guessing 8-9 point win.

    -- Posted by bball79 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 12:21 PM
  • Ip are all starters from jackson back? If so I say jackson by 8.

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 12:33 PM
  • How old is Hardimon?

    -- Posted by semo501 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 7:17 PM
  • Sorry Murph!! Just saw your question...I'm sure you know by now but yes they are.

-- Posted by IndianPride on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 8:15 PM
  • Hardimon is 16. Bluff is up 49-42 into the third. The game sounds unwatchable due to the amount of fouls.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 8:36 PM
  • 58-45 Bluff. Leech finding his stroke.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 8:41 PM
  • In the first half, there was a foul every 22.8 seconds on average

    -- Posted by semo501 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 8:42 PM
  • 68-52 Bluff, 4:54 left.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 8:52 PM
  • Also, unless Caruthersville really plays a perfect game Bluff is winning that one by 15+

    -- Posted by semo501 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 8:52 PM
  • Mules up 20, 77-57. 2 minutes left.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 8:59 PM
  • Mules win 77-61. Good game, Indians. I am sure we will see each other in the district final.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 9:06 PM
  • Leech is good. Terrible officiating but pb is the real deal. I was impressed. Can't wait to see ap gaurd him.

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 9:07 PM
  • This is a statement game by Poplar Bluff. When healthy they are a very good team.

-- Posted by LeBum on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 9:10 PM
  • Cville by 8 over bluff ...

    -- Posted by sportsman23 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 9:55 PM
  • Agree with Murphdogg on officiating. Jackson was off their game, dont think they would have won anyway. Bluff is very solid, even with Leech playing limited minutes. Good game Mules.

-- Posted by Tom A. Hawk on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 10:18 PM
  • PB is a good team. Tonight: Lucas-27 points, Leech-17 points and Hardimon-14 points. Those three are great on the court together. Rodney Houston is also a good player for PB. He has been stepping it up..

    -- Posted by Love1997 on Tue, Jan 17, 2017, at 10:50 PM
  • That was probably the best game I've ever seen Lucas play (I've seen him probably 10ish times). He really impressed me tonight and was the best player on the court. Inside/outside and rebounding, he did it all

If realize Leech missed a lot of time, but he didn't look very good. I know he scored 17, but he did it on probably 17 shots and had like 10 turnovers. I know he'll get better with time, but he just looked like he was forcing a lot (of shots and passes). Good win by Bluff and they'll be tough if healthy the rest of the way

    -- Posted by semo501 on Wed, Jan 18, 2017, at 1:05 AM
  • Terrible officiating.

Lucas was the best player on the court.

Leech is the real deal prospect wise.

Jackson lost that game in the 2nd quarter when their players were on the bench in foul trouble, though I think PB would have pulled it out either way.

I'll take PB by 20 over carutgersville.

-- Posted by insidescoop on Wed, Jan 18, 2017, at 8:37 AM
  • Great statement game for PB.

Terrible officiating, the game was to fast for those officials. The refs had to slow the game down to keep up with those two athletic teams. Lucas was an absolute stud last night, after being out for 7weeks it'll take a couple more games for Leech to be back in full form. But with Leech playing was the difference from the last meeting the two teams had in Sikeston. Hester showed what he's capable of doing in the 4th quarter. The next meeting for these two teams should be in districts which is held in PB this year. I think it'll be somewhat of the same outcome, by then Leech will be in full form.

I got Pb over Caruthersville by 20. I can't see Caruthersville being better than Jackson. Jackson is deeper, just as athletic, bigger, and can shoot it better, they're a very good team. I think when Sikeston, PB, and Jackson are on their A game, they're head and shoulders better than the rest of the teams in the SEMO area.

Just a question how many of you have actually seen Caruthersville play?

-- Posted by JustLoveTheGame on Wed, Jan 18, 2017, at 10:46 AM
  • I've watched them on line and they will not beat PB. They're a good team but with PB having everybody healthy they don't have enough to pull off the upset.

-- Posted by BIGELW on Wed, Jan 18, 2017, at 10:52 AM
  • Never count out coach Scott in the district he seems to have PB number as far as coaching adjustments.

Fair enough. Is there gonna be a live stream I could watch from work! For some reason the boss doesn't believe the game is a good excuse to take a day off! Some people!!

-- Posted by JustLoveTheGame on Wed, Jan 18, 2017, at 11:41 AM
  • again I like pb but have watched both teams play and again people are sleeping on the talent at cville. when I watch cville play in Tennessee they lost but you can tell a team that plays like a family versus those who play as individuals. It wasn't a fluke that they beat Charleston and who ever they played in districts to get to sectionals. I got a feeling this team is way under everyone's radar and will give the bluff all they want...to be continued.....

They won in Tenn. against state ranked Obion County Central and lost a close one to also state ranked Dyersburg in a close one. I would say due to and injury to a starter. Both were much much larger schools. I also believe it will be a close game.

  • I'm going to say PB wins by 4 In a back and forth game. Cville is the real deal and a legit threat in 3A.

-- Posted by Humpback on Fri, Jan 20, 2017, at 4:11 PM
  • 3A?

    -- Posted by joefrank78 on Fri, Jan 20, 2017, at 8:19 PM
  • Bluff has the advantage of playing at home; Caruthersville plays a rivalry game tonight at Hayti and Bluff did not play tonight.

    -- Posted by tmm224 on Fri, Jan 20, 2017, at 9:24 PM
  • Cville just beat Hayti by 20+ with 3 of their starters in bad foul trouble the entire game.

  • 67-64 pb after 3. Leech 19 points the quarter.

-- Posted by LeBum on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 2:42 PM
  • Hardimon is playing a helluva game as well. .

-- Posted by hoopaholiczanon on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 2:46 PM
  • Hardimon had an unreal block in that quarter. One of the best quarters of basketball I've seen. Both teams going back and forth at it.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 2:47 PM
  • How are Davis and qualls lookin

-- Posted by SouthEspn on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 2:55 PM
  • Leech picks up 4th foul.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 2:58 PM
  • That third quarter was unbelievable. Hardimons block was one of the best I've ever seen.

-- Posted by LeBum on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 2:59 PM
  • #22 and #5 have caught my eye the most.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 2:59 PM
  • #1 is pretty good on Caruthersville, too.

  • #1 is Qualls and #22 is Bell

-- Posted by hoopaholiczanon on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 3:05 PM
  • 95-83 final Bluff over Caruthersville. Great, great game. Very exciting.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 3:07 PM
  • looks like playing hayti last night took something out of cville and they wore down that last quarter?? Or was leech just too much??

-- Posted by SouthEspn on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 3:17 PM
  • Wow looks like neither team know how to play any D. That's what will hurt PB down the road.

-- Posted by BIGELW on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 4:44 PM
  • The Caruthersville Charleston game should be a good one Tuesday. I believe it's at Caruthersville

-- Posted by Kennett fan on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 5:02 PM
  • I think that those of us that have seen cville play knew this game would not be a blowout. Cville is right there with Charleston in terms of talent. In fact, cville might have more. Interesting that bluff was suppose to blow cville out but then all,of the sudden they didn't because the experts say they can't guard. Haha

-- Posted by ozzyandharriet on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 5:08 PM
  • No doubt defense is the weak spot on PB. Offense is good, free throws are okay. Not great though. Defense is not great. But in my opinion BIGELW, I think Houston is playing decent at the point. I think the PG position has improved from last year for sure.

    -- Posted by bluffguy697 on Sat, Jan 21, 2017, at 5:45 PM
  • I agree it is better than last year.
