  • Sikeston beats Hopkinsville, KY 4-0 and Haywood, TN 8-0.

In the first game Doug Still got the win in a dominant performance, striking out 14 in six innings with Jacob Clark getting the last three outs in the seventh.

In the second game, Jarrett Sandlin got the win pitching 5 innings of 1 hit baseball!

The Sikeston pitching staff has yet to allow an earned run in 4 games. As I stated in a previous post, if the Dogs hit, they will be tough to beat. I don't think they will even need to score a lot of runs. I think if they score four runs a game it will be plenty with the quality if the pitching staff!!

  • Brownbomber---Don't EVER count out the Dogs from Cape ND...I agree you're loaded but you were loaded last year and got beat by Desoto..

-- Posted by crackerjack on Sat, Mar 30, 2013, at 5:25 PM
  • Bring em on!

-- Posted by Brownbomber on Sat, Mar 30, 2013, at 5:43 PM
  • And this team is twice the team as last year's team. More pitching and deep at every position. I'm well aware that ND is always a tough game , but ill venture to say our pitching from #1 to #6 is as tough as anyone. We have to hit, plain and simple. Like I said, if we do, it'll be very hard to beat us.

-- Posted by Brownbomber on Sat, Mar 30, 2013, at 5:49 PM
  • OK--I'll ignore your second post and agree with your third...IF you hit you will be tough...Don't ever tell ND to bring it on! They know how to do that very effectively...

-- Posted by crackerjack on Sat, Mar 30, 2013, at 6:09 PM
  • You must have forgotten about the Jackson game that you lost. You had earned runs in that game.

  • Valle 3-1 over Jackson

-- Posted by Dragon & Warrior Fan on Thu, Apr 4, 2013, at 5:35 AM
  • Great Fun,

Not going to say that yet, but they are 5-0 right now, but need to get some more games under their belt to get rolling. Pitching has been pretty good, but not quite where it needs to be, that will come with more games. Their offense has gotten better with each game, defense was looking good until this game with Bernie, both teams had way too many errors. With more games, I believe C'water will be ready. Go Tigers!!

-- Posted by tooldogging on Thu, Apr 4, 2013, at 7:55 AM
  • Early season observations.....Looks like alot of fine quality teams this year, no real domination as of yet other than I suppose ND at 9-0 but they run a gauntlet of a schedule I believe soon, so their wings will have a pretty good chance of getting clipped soon.

Pretty neat that Chaffee took down what most people seemed to regard as the top team in the area in PB. Small school taking down the big school is always neat to see.

Scott City beating Oran surprised me a little too.

-- Posted by GreatFun on Thu, Apr 4, 2013, at 9:03 AM
  • I just wish Chaffee would be more consistent. Losses to Leopold and Bernie but wins against Bluff and Cape Central with Haggerty on the mound. Hard to get a feel for this team.

-- Posted by Thot McGee on Thu, Apr 4, 2013, at 9:48 AM
  • Props to Chaffee because bluff is a good team. Then again bluff has been struggling to get it going, but they will get it started soon enough. Once they do, bluff is one of the best teams in the area easy

    -- Posted by Tigers2638 on Thu, Apr 4, 2013, at 10:32 AM
  • they hadn't lost a game so what was not going? and speaking of not getting it going look at Chaffee.. loses to Leopold and Bernie, who are solid teams, but I don't think are a match for a class 5 school as talented as Bluff.

  • Honestly fella's I only hear random games, we couldve played the Cubs to a 2-1 game and I wouldnt know unless I went to seek that knowledge outm at least baseball wise. Because frankly its not that on my radar of concern. And you fail to have very much literary skills (something Bill Shakespeare would know about). When I brought up the One Armed kid game I was actually stating that it was a good game. And we had to bear down and try and get it done. I used his one armed-ness because that's the most notable thing about the game! I couldve said you through a blond haired blue eyed kid, and that couldve been probably 20 different years. But you knew what I was talking about. I did rag on your academics as a joke, but we were talking baseball by the time that came up. And to reinforce my first statement, look how much I posted before the kelly game..? Im just not a big baseball guy.. Fellas we can all get along, lol
