Brian Rosener is the keeper of the Semoball Cup which is presented to the school with the most successful season. It is based on a formula that takes into account the combined winning percentage of all sports teams plus bonus points for advancement in postseason play for both teams and individuals. The bonus points are divided by the number of teams a school fields. Rosener has been the sports editor for the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since December 2001. He was born and raised in St. Louis, where he attended Lindbergh High School and Webster University. He is married to Jennifer, a Poplar Bluff native, has a son Jack and a dog named Satchel who stands in for his @semoballBrian photo.

The Lady Mules earned a share of the SEMO Conference title on Senior Night, picking up win No. 20 in the process.

Stefanie Ferguson scored two points, moving within a point of 26th on Poplar Bluff's all-time scoring list with 582 points. Aereill Davis led the Lady Mules with 17 points in her final game at Peters Gym. Davis, who transferred from Georgia in January of her junior year, has 385 points in 37 career games at Poplar Bluff.

Poplar Bluff, Dexter and Jackson each finished 7-1 in SEMO play.

Jasmin Sumrall scored 13 points while Ruthie Johnson added eight for the Lady Mules (20-5).

Cassey Hart and Kadie Civils led Doniphan (13-8, 3-4) with five points each.

Also, the Lady Mules JV team improved to 18-0 with a 58-30 victory. They'll play Doniphan's varsity team Monday night.

Tomorrow I'll post the teams coming to the 2008 Poplar Bluff Showdown. (Hint: Poplar Bluff won't be the only Southeast Missouri team.)
