Brian Rosener is the keeper of the Semoball Cup which is presented to the school with the most successful season. It is based on a formula that takes into account the combined winning percentage of all sports teams plus bonus points for advancement in postseason play for both teams and individuals. The bonus points are divided by the number of teams a school fields. Rosener has been the sports editor for the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since December 2001. He was born and raised in St. Louis, where he attended Lindbergh High School and Webster University. He is married to Jennifer, a Poplar Bluff native, has a son Jack and a dog named Satchel who stands in for his @semoballBrian photo.

Hansbrough Homecoming Part 2

Ben Hansbrough and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are in Columbia tonight (7 p.m. FSN).

In three previous games at Mizzou Arena, Ben averaged 25.0 points a contest in high school (31 points vs. Rock Bridge last year; 17 vs. Vashon in 2005 final; 27 against Rockhurst in 2005 semifinal)

Add his numbers at the Hearnes Center, Ben scored 123 points in high school at Mizzou.

Ben's older brother Greg, a Mizzou student, told me in an earlier post that he'll use his student ID to get into the game but will certainly be wearing MSU maroon.

Ben played well (8 pts, 8 ast, 4 reb), but he was certainly out-played by Stefhon Hannah (27 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast, 5 stl). Ben doesn't look for his shot much and is more of a distributor at the point. He gave up some open looks to pass to his teammates.

Well put O_T_B_. He was outplayed by Hannah, but they are definitely two different types of players. Did you think Ben looked a lot slimmer than in high school?
