BLOOMFIELD -- Looking for their first Bloomfield Christmas Tournament championship since 2004, the Dexter Bearcats saw their title hopes quickly disappear in the fourth quarter Thursday night against the defending champion Kennett Indians. The two newest teams to the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament faced off for a chance to play for 5th place in this year's tournament, and it was the No. 9 Holcomb Hornets defeating the No. 12 Saxony Lutheran Crusaders, 68-61. Both teams would be tied up at 39-39 heading into the second half, but the Hornets would outscore Saxony Lutheran 13-9 in the third quarter to take a 52-48 lead into the final quarter of play...

The Holcomb Hornets had to battle for it, but when the final buzzer sounded in their first-round game of the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament they walked away with a hard-fought 61-55 win over the Van Buren Bulldogs.
