Sikeston, seeded third, played No. 2 Waynesville on Saturday.

Results from that game will be posted Monday.

SOFTBALL

The Portageville Lady Bulldogs defeated Senath-Hornersville 10-0 in five innings on Friday.

Portageville took the lead in the bottom of the first as Lauren Kellams, Katlyn Underwood and DeAnna Deere hit back-toback to back doubles followed up by a single by Kellye Penn and a sacrifice RBI by Morgan Lechenette.

The Bulldog bats settled down in the second inning but in the bottom of the third they scored three more runs from a lead-off walk by Penn and two singles by Lechenette and Erica Ivie.

As they moved into the fourth and what would be the final inning Kellams led off with a single followed by a big home run over the left-center fence by Deere and a single by Lechenette who scored off an RBI single from Ivie to cap off the three run inning. This would be all the Lady Dogs would need to sustain the victory.

Deere took the mound for the Lady Dogs and held Senath scoreless for five innings facing 19 batters and striking out 11 with only three walks. Deere completed the game with a nohit shutout to extend the Lady Bulldogs record to 12-2 for the season.

The Portageville Lady Bulldogs also defeated the New Madrid County Central Lady Eagles on Thursday, 13-0.
