St. Vincent girls win Class 1 District 1 track title

The St. Vincent girls' track and field team won the Class 1 District 1 championship on Saturday in Scott City.

The St. Vincent girls' track and field team won the Class 1 District 1 championship on Saturday at Scott City High School. The top four finishers advance to the sectional round.

St. Vincent sent three relays to sectionals and won the district title in the 4x200m with a time of 2:00.98. Reese Zoellner took first place in the pole vault (8-00.00) and Claire Otte won the javelin (94-10.00). Aiden Blessing advanced in the long jump with a third place finish (14-01.00) and triple jump with a fourth place finish (28-11.75).

Marquand-Zion sent only one girl to the district meet and will also send her to sectionals. Kaylee Stafford took the district title in the shot put (33-01.25) and finished third in the discus (83-11.00).

Zalma dominated the discus event, with Montana Smith finishing first (93-11.00) and Madison Kirkpatrick finishing second (87-11.00).

Delta took over the podium in the shot put. Kaydence Hopkins finished second (31-06.00) and Emma Walter finished in third place (30-05.75).

Alysa Adams of Scott County Central won the district title in the high jump with a 4-09.75 mark.
