Missourian prep hoops roundup, Feb. 14: Oran boys get Valentine’s Day dub at home against Advance

Oran (14-10) did just enough to hold off Advance (19-6) on Tuesday night to get a big 49-40 win at home.

Nolan Loper led the Eagles with 16 points in the win, while Riley Schlosser (15), Kolten Payne (8), Elijah Shoemaker (6) and Robby Menz (4) all chimed in for Oran.

Colton Silman led the Hornets with 10 points in the loss, receiving backup scoring from Hayden Hitt (8), Hayden Laird (7), Jaxon Limbaugh (6), Tyler Davis (4), Braylen Carlton (3) and Jack Bailey (2).

Both teams next move into the Class 2 District 3 Tournament.

BBB: Meadow Heights 93, Marquand 65

Meadow Heights (15-10) rallied past Marquand (5-15) on the Tigers’ senior night, using a high-scoring effort to win 93-65.

Koby Cook and Will Green scored 28 and 25 points respectively for Meadow Heights, combining for 53 of 93 points, while Braeden Hays (18), Damion Hulbert (12), Jayden Burr (6), Ransom Grindstaff (3) and Aiden Mayfield (1) all added to the fire for the Panthers.

Wyatt Graham finished with 27 points in the Marquand loss, while Aidan Holman (15), Braydan Homan (9), Justin Dees (6), Kaylee Stafford (3), Matthew Fischer (3) and Elijah Whitener (2) all scored for Marquand.

Meadow Heights next hosts St. Vincent (14-10), while Marquand hosts Oak Ridge (19-5) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

BBB: Chaffee 55, Delta 43

Chaffee (10-14) took a fair-sized win at home on Tuesday night, defeating Delta (5-19) by a 55-43 margin.

Chaffee received 17 points from Blake Yarbro in the win, while Shelton Simmons (14), Levi McKinnie (9), Craig Hanlon (4), Peyton Vaughn (4), Kade Atkins (4) and Aiden Cruse (3) all chipped in for Chaffee.

Carter Scherer led the Bobcats with 17 points in the loss, followed by Isaiah Berry (12), Bryce Cox (9) and Colton Deckard (5).

Chaffee next hosts Holcomb (12-11) at 5 p.m. on Friday, while Delta hosts Clarkton (11-12) at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
