High School volleyball roundup, Oct. 11: Saxony Lutheran gets sweep win at Poplar Bluff

Saxony Lutheran (20-7-3) took a three-set win at Poplar Bluff (7-22-1) on Tuesday, winning sets 25-20, 25-14 and 25-11.

The Crusaders next host Scott City (23-8-3) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, while Poplar Bluff hosts Eminence (7-20-3) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Oran 3, Charleston 0

Oran (5-20-1) got back on track with a tight three-set win against Charleston (7-19-1) on Tuesday, winning sets at 25-22, 25-22 and 26-24.

Oran plays at 7:15 p.m. on Friday at Saxony Lutheran (20-7-3), while Charleston plays at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at Leopold (7-12-1).

Scott City 3, New Madrid County Central 0

Scott City (23-8-3) got a sweeping win over New Madrid County Central (9-16-2) on Tuesday, winning sets at 25-13, 25-6 and 25-20.

Scott City received 13 kills from senior Avarie O’Brien and 20 assists from sophomore Ramsey Spinks on offense in the win. Senior Jennifer Groves led defensively with 10 digs.

Scott City hosts Jackson (26-4-4) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Eagles host Sikeston (11-15-2) on Thursday.
