Oran Lady Eagles land two on all-state team, Boshell named Scott-Miss POY

The Oran Lady Eagles had a pair of players named to the Spring Class 1 All-State Softball Team after winning its second consecutive district title this past season.

Senior catcher Rylee Boshell and sophomore pitcher Molly Spane were selected after each had exceptional seasons.

Each played in all 20 games for the team this season. Boshell led Oran in batting average (.661), on-base percentage (.704), slugging percentage (1.097), hits (41), doubles (13), triples (7), RBIs (28) and runs scored (24). She also had 17 consecutive hits during a five-game span this season and will continue her decorated softball career at Williams Baptist University.

Spane was the team's top pitcher, but also made a definite impact at the plate. She had an 11-3 overall record while pitching 89 total innings with a 2.674 ERA and 130 strikeouts. Spane also batted .542 with 32 hits including six doubles, three home runs, 21 RBIs and 23 runs scored.

The Lady Eagles finished as the seventh-ranked team in the final Class 1 rankings.

All-Scott Mississippi Team

Boshell also headlined the All-Scott Mississippi Conference Team as the Player of the Year.

Oran also had Spane and sophomores Bralynn Morgan and Lilly Knotts earn all-conference honors. Senior Hope Woodfin was an honorable mention selection and Oran coach Jim Eftink was chosen as the Coach of the Year.

The other all-conference selections were Delta’s Kendal Holweg, Presley Holweg and Lacey Blattel; Scott City’s Mackenzie Lawless, Alyssa Dirden and Olivia Ponder; East Prairie’s Tori Stinnet; Charleston’s Saylor Humphrey; Oak Ridge’s MaKayla Rangel and Scott County Central’s Madalynn Carlisle.

The other players who were named honorable mention were Scott City’s Logan Schiwitz and Gracie Karrenbrock; East Prairie’s Chloe Jackson and Katie Brewer; Charleston’s Soma Hooper; and Delta’s Olivia Wagoner.
