Cross Country Roundup, Sept. 21: Dexter places in middle of pack at Arcadia Valley Invitational

The Dexter boys cross country team finished near the middle of the pack Saturday at the Arcadia Valley Invitational.

The Dexter Bearcats placed seventh in the 16-team field in the varsity boys division with 197 points. Jackson won the team championship with 48. Bloomfield was 15th with 350.

Clayton Bell was the Bearcats’ top finisher, placing 26th in 18 minutes, 37.39 seconds. Caleb Upchurch finished 58th in 20:04.53 for Bloomfield’s top finish.

Bradley Ahrens, of Windsor (Imperial), won the race in 16:34.59.

Dexter finished 10th in the 11-team varsity girls division with 257 points. Farmington won the team title with 19.

Abbie Lloyd was Dexter’s top performer, placing 37th in 24:01.41. Dexter’s Gabby Brown did not compete.

Isabella Marcum, of Fox, won the race in 18:39.48.
