Holcomb junior guard Nate Rhew is the Tri-County Conference boys basketball Player of the Year. Rhew averaged 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block per game his junior season.

“I am so proud of Nate Rhew and the level of commitment he has shown throughout the two years I have coached him,” Holcomb coach Michael Snider said. “He took a lot of time in the offseason and really worked on some things that we felt like would help him. He really came on and exploded onto the scene this year. In conference games he averaged 29 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. I just could not be more proud of him with how he handled everything as a student-athlete during this crazy year. I am excited to see how much he can grow over the next year.”

Holcomb coach Michael Snider is the Tri-County Conference boys basketball Coach of the Year. Holcomb finished 13-12 as it compiled its first winning season since its 2013-14 campaign. Holcomb secured the regular-season conference title and placed second in the Tri-County Conference Tournament.

“I am honored to be selected Tri-County Conference Coach of the Year,” Snider said. “Being pretty young still, it means a lot to me to have been selected by my coaching peers who I look up to in our conference,” Snider said. “However, I could not have received the high honor without the buy-in and commitment of every one of our student-athletes. We went 10-1 against conference opponents this year and that is something that I do not think most expected. Since I got here last year our kids have done nothing but work their tails off in the classroom, on the court, and in the weight room. I am just so proud of them and the work they have put in.”

Holcomb’s Rhew, Risco senior Kamron Meese, Clarkton senior Izaya Gorman, Gideon senior Brevin Vires, and Cooter sophomore Dylan Riley were selected first-team all-conference.

Delta C-7 senior Ky’Ran Luster, Clarkton junior Caleb Plunkett, Holcomb senior Eli Bader, Gideon freshman Payton Woodard, and Southland junior Jamar Edwards were selected second-team all-conference.

Cooter sophomore Rhodes Lynn, Delta C-7 junior Maurion Hattiex, Risco senior Evan Pipkin, North Pemiscot junior Christian Curtwright, Gideon senior Dalton Manning, and Risco junior Hayden Ludwig received honorable mention on the all-conference team.
