Seedings, schedule released for Bootheel Conference girls basketball tournament

The stage is set for the 2021 Bootheel Conference varsity girls basketball tournament.

All eight teams will compete in quarterfinals Saturday at Campbell High School. Semifinals are Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. with the title game to follow Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m.

The first quarterfinal on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. features No. 1 seeded Holcomb (10-5, 5-0) squaring off against No. 8 seeded South Pemiscot. Holcomb, which has yet to suffer a loss to a Bootheel Conference opponent, won the first meeting against South Pemiscot 63-14 on Jan. 25.

The second quarterfinal on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. features No. 4 seeded Malden (9-9, 4-3) and No. 5 seeded Senath-Hornersville (6-9, 3-4). Malden edged Senath-Hornersville 53-51 in the first meeting on Jan. 11.

The third quarterfinal on Saturday at 11 a.m. features No. 2 seeded Hayti (8-3, 5-1) and No. 7 seeded Portageville (2-12, 0-7). Defending conference tournament Hayti won the first meeting with Portageville 59-20 on Jan. 26.

The final quarterfinal on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. features No. 3 seeded Campbell (8-8, 4-3) against No. 6 seeded Caruthersville (7-8, 2-4). Campbell won the first meeting with Caruthersville 73-47 on Dec. 8.
