Kelly RB runs his way into history, honors

The 2020 football season has been memorable for many high school football programs throughout Missouri for all of the wrong reasons. However, for Kelly, the 2020 season will be recalled fondly, as the Hawks have won 8 of 10 games, including last Friday's C2D1 game over Charleston.

The victory was the first such postseason victory in Kelly history and the play of running back Bryce Phelps was a key reason why it happened.

The Kelly junior running back totaled 138 yards rushing on 12 carries and scored three times.

For his efforts, Phelps was voted as the Semoball.com Football Player of the Week.

Phelps received 274 votes from the 144 participants.

Other nominees included: Josh Alday (Dexter), Quazavian Jackson (New Madrid County Central), Trav'von Thomas (Hayti), and Mason Light (St. Vincent).
