SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Nathan Harvey, Bernie

Nathan Harvey

Bernie High School
SPORTS: Baseball.
PARENTS: John and Michelle Harvey
PETS: Great Pyrenees (Yeti)

PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL: Attend College of the Ozarks and further my career in Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgery.

WHAT DO YOU MISS ABOUT SCHOOL: I miss baseball and FFA most.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF THIS SENIOR YEAR: I’ve learned that no matter what your plans are, anything can happen, so just live life one day at a time, and make the most of it!

BEST SPORTS MEMORY: My freshman year in baseball we had a rain delay and our whole team made this “sniper” out of old bats, cups, a Gatorade bottle, and lots of tape, we dirtied up our jerseys just for the game to be canceled 30 mins later, but we had a ton of fun!

SPORT YOU WANT TO TRY: I want to try golf, I’ve never played but golfing seems a lot like baseball. Golfing has similar characteristics as baseball such as the hand-eye coordination, it can be intense at times, and I love the movie “Happy Gilmore.”

OTHER ACTIVITIES, HOBBIES: I was a member in FFA, FCS, FBLA, Sr. Beta, FCCLA, and I also do woodworking as a hobby.

PICK ONE — PLAY YOUR SPORT ONE LAST TIME, ATTEND PROM OR HAVE A GRADUATION CEREMONY: I would pick to play baseball one last time. To get to have the opportunity to play one last time with my friends and to get that adrenaline rush of a close game, or the feeling of the bat hitting the ball as it is crushed out of the park. I would do anything to play with those guys one last time.
