SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Carson Webb, Poplar Bluff

Carson Webb

Poplar Bluff High School

SPORTS: Baseball (3 years), basketball (2)

PARENTS: Chris and Teresa Webb

SIBLINGS: Lauren Webb, 15.

PETS: Dog (Cooper)

PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL: Attend Three Rivers College and play baseball for the Raiders.

WHAT DO YOU MISS ABOUT SCHOOL: Hanging with my friends, attending sporting events, lunchtime with the crew, and getting trapped in the elevator for (what felt like) hours while Mr. Owen talked to me through the door and let me know that the rescue crew was on the way. Shout-Out to Mr. Owen for being there for me!

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF THIS SENIOR YEAR: I learned to take on a leadership role in our baseball pre-season workouts. Then, as we were prepared to begin our run for a state championship, I figured out how quickly things can change. This has taught me a lesson on how suddenly life can throw you a nasty curveball.

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST SPORTS MEMORY: Two prominent memories of PB Mules Baseball: No. 1 was freshman year, being on the varsity team and traveling to the three-day tournament in Union City, Tennessee. I can't go into a lot of specifics, I'll just say it was a great experience and very memorable way to start my Mules baseball career. No. 2 was my sophomore season going 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI in an 11-0 win against New Madrid County Central to clinch the SEMO regular season championship.

IS THERE A SPORT YOU WANT TO TRY: Drag Racing, because in the words of Ricky Bobby, “I Wanna Go Fast!”

ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES, HOBBIES: I have been in Mule Barn all four years and a member of DECA. I also enjoy being outdoors, fishing, hanging with friends, and working on my truck.

PICK ONE — PLAY YOUR SPORT ONE LAST TIME, ATTEND PROM OR HAVE A GRADUATION CEREMONY: No question, play PB Mules Baseball one last time! We put in a ton of extra work this offseason. Coach (Steve) Edwards pushed us to get bigger, stronger, throw harder and run faster. We have been in the weight room and running for months to have us prepared for this season. The PB Mules had big plans for this season, and the team was “All In.” I would love to get on that field one more time with the 2020 PB Mules!
