Bloomfield girls basketball secures first win of season, beats Puxico 34-21
The Bloomfield girls basketball team held Puxico scoreless in the second quarter and pulled away in the fourth to capture its first win of the season.
The Wildcats outscored winless Puxico 13-8 in the fourth quarter and won 34-21 Monday night at Bloomfield High School.
We finally broke through and got our first win of the year, Bloomfield coach Louis Bell said. Weve had opportunities in the new year of picking up a victory and have not been able to close it out, so it feels good to finally win one.
Adison Musgrave scored a game-high 15 points, equalling her season high set Jan. 13 against Caruthersville. She scored six of her points in the fourth quarter.
Savanna Spicer added seven points, as the Wildcats improved to 1-12.
Kaiti Payne, Alivia Taylor and Gracie Wilkerson scored five points apiece to lead Puxico, who fell to 0-15.
Bloomfield held quarter leads of 8-6, 15-6 and 21-13.
(Its a) good team win, hoping that we can finish the year strong, Bell said.
