BASKETBALL STATE RANKINGS. Bernie boys, Oran girls enter state rankings

Seven boys basketball teams and two girls basketball teams from the Semoball coverage area are ranked in the latest state poll released Wednesday by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

Delta (16-3), which is unbeaten in the month of January, has moved up two spots to No. 6 in the Class 1 boys poll.

Oran (15-3) remains No. 3 in the Class 2 boys poll. Bernie (15-4) moves into the rankings at No. 9 in the Class 2 boys poll.

Charleston (16-3) remains No. 3 and Kennett (15-5) remains No. 7 in the Class 3 boys poll. Charleston visits Kennett Friday.

Notre Dame (13-4) remains No. 6 in the Class 4 boys poll. Cape Central (14-3) drops a spot to No. 8 in the Class 4 boys poll.

Ellington (14-3), which beat South Iron 53-51 in the championship of the Black River League Tournament Saturday, moved up five spots to No. 4 in the Class 2 girls poll. Oran (14-3), which has won eight straight, moves into the rankings at No. 6 in the Class 2 girls poll.
