Holcomb girls basketball beat South Pemiscot 62-33 to secure top seed in Bootheel Conference Tournament

STEELE, Mo. - The Holcomb Hornets varsity girls basketball team secured the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Bootheel Conference Tournament with a 62-33 road victory against South Pemiscot Monday night.

Holcomb built an 18-4 lead by the end of the first quarter and led the rest of the way.

Bailey Cupples paced Holcomb with 20 points. Macy Houart also finished in double digits for the Hornets with 16 points.

McKenzie Jordan paced South Pemiscot with 13 points.

Holcomb (11-6) can finish Tri-County Conference regular-season play perfect with a win at Caruthersville Tuesday night.

South Pemiscot (1-12) begins play in the Bootheel Conference Tournament Monday at home.
