Polar Bear scramble title decided by 1 stroke

The foursome of Andy Roark, Ted Cassinger, Tom Graber and Danny Andrews finished at 7-under 28 to win the Polar Bear Classic scramble Wednesday at Ozark Ridge Golf Course in Poplar Bluff.

With birdies on five of their first six holes and the final two, the winning foursome took the annual New Year’s Day tournament by a stroke. Barry Stahl, Rick Losh, Doug Link and Paul Tucker, who had six birdies to finish at 29.

Tyler Berry, Rick Rainwater, Tracy Edington and Phil Gullett placed third with a round of 30 that included five birdies.

The event featured 34 players.
